Being not of legal gambling age in the greater majority of the country, it is extremely difficult and frustrating attempting to locate a legitimate, professional, and most importantly fun place to play some poker. I had pretty much given up all hope in entering a casino, until I heard a few encouraging words about a small resort and casino in upstate New York. Of course I was skeptical, having never even heard the name of the casino, and imagined it to be somewhat lackluster at best, but the Turning Stone resort and Casino in Verona New York completely took me by surprise. Without a doubt, playing poker a the Turning Stone is the closest thing I will get to playing in Vegas for a couple more years at least.
The poker room at the turning stone is absolutely gorgeous. With elaborately decorative golden chandeliers, and beautiful marble pillars, the Turning Stone has provided me with the most unforgettable poker experience I have had to this point. The two dollar charge to enter the poker pit is nothing compared to the experience that you will encounter at this lavish high class casino. The dealers were friendly, skilled, and knowledgeable, and the floor service was prompt and extremely helpful as well. I encountered no problems, and I didn’t even see a dispute anywhere that wasn’t settled promptly, and orderly.
The variety of games offered was also a pleasant surprise to say the least. With many different games to choose from such as Seven Card Stud, Omaha, the high/low versions of both games, and of course limit, and no limit Texas Holdem’, you really get the feeling that every employee on the floor really knows what they are doing, and every game that I played was run smoothly and efficiently.
It was quite astonishing to see the great many number of games right from judi online to draw the poker while blackjack always gives feelings of déjà vu but Texas Holdem’ was the most entertaining as usual.
To me, there are really no draw backs to this casino at all. But there are some potential problems for travelers looking for an alternative to a weekend in Atlantic City. First of all, there is no alcohol served anywhere at the resort. This doesn’t affect me at all, but I am sure this would disappoint some people. But to remedy this situation, the Turning Stone instituted a pleasant BYOB policy, and there seemed to be no problem with that at all that I witnessed. Another potential glitch would be the slots. I have been told by almost everyone that I asked, the slots at the turning Stone have an extremely low payback percentage, and it is a total waste of money and time to even sit down at a machine at this place.
Drawbacks aside, if you are seeking a fun release from you vacation slums, or merely looking for an elegant, and exciting poker experience, the Turing Stone is an excellent place to consider for your next vacation.
